Habesha Hub policy

Listing Policy

Effective September 29, 2026

What belongs in the directory

Listings should have a meaningful connection to Ethiopian or Habesha community life in the United States and fit an available directory category.

Status labels

Verified means key factual details were checked against a current official or reliable public source. It does not mean Habesha Hub endorses the organization. Community listed means the listing has public or community evidence but has not met the full verification standard. Needs verification means information is incomplete, old or conflicting.

Verification

Reviewers should prefer official websites, licensing boards, government or nonprofit records and current public business sources. Listings display a last-checked date where available. Paid promotion, if introduced in the future, will never determine verification status.

Professional listings

Licensing claims should be checked against the appropriate licensing authority when practical. A directory listing does not substitute for checking a professional's current license or disciplinary history.

Corrections, claims and removals

Owners and community members may submit corrections. Ownership claims require reasonable evidence before privileged changes are accepted. A person may request removal of personal information, subject to legitimate recordkeeping and public-interest considerations.
