Information we collect

Browsing the directory does not require an account. Habesha Hub may receive information that you voluntarily provide through its submission form, including listing information, supporting links and optional name or contact information. The form does not require sign-in and does not automatically collect an email address.

Private submission system

Habesha Hub uses Google Forms to receive submissions and a private Google Sheet to store responses for moderation. Submission responses are not posted to a public GitHub issue. Google processes form and spreadsheet data as the service provider hosting these tools and its own terms and privacy practices also apply.

How information is used

Information is used to review submissions, verify directory information, respond to requests, prevent abuse and maintain the community directory. Habesha Hub does not sell personal information. Optional submitter contact information is used for follow-up and is not published as part of a listing unless the submitter separately provides a public contact method for publication.

Public information

Business contact information may be published when it is already public or supplied for publication. Private residential addresses are not published in housing posts. Individual professionals are handled more conservatively and may have limited contact details.

Third-party services

Listings may link to external websites, maps, government resources, social networks and other third-party services. The private submission workflow uses Google Forms and Google Sheets. Third-party services are also governed by their own privacy policies.

Retention and requests

Submission and moderation records may be retained to document corrections, prevent duplicate listings and resolve disputes. People may request correction or removal of personal information through the site's private submission process.

Information on your device

Planner entries and saved places use this browser's local storage. They are not uploaded to Habesha Hub or synchronized across devices. Shared browser profiles can expose saved entries to other users. Planner downloads remain wherever you save them; remove those copies separately when no longer needed. Clear planner entries using Clear my data. Remove bookmarks from the individual place profile.

The submission preparation page keeps a draft only in the current page. Following the Google Form link shares the prefilled listing name, city and state with Google. Your detailed summary is only copied when you choose to copy it and is not automatically sent.

Children

The site is a general community resource and is not intended to collect personal information directly from children.
